A master’s thesis in the Department of Geography, College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, examined (vehicle transportation on the main roads in Al-Qurna District for the year 2021 - by Safaa Abdel-Nabi Darwish).
The thesis dealt with: a study of the variation of motor transport in the district of Qurna with description, analysis and conclusion. industrial, and agricultural.
The thesis included: an introduction and five chapters. The first chapter dealt with the historical development of land transportation methods and the number of cars and bridges in Al-Qurna District for the period (1950-2021). The second chapter dealt with the geographical (natural and human) determinants affecting transportation in the district. The third chapter dealt with the intensity of the movement of pregnancy vehicles. Transportation of goods) on the main roads in the district of Qurna, while the fourth chapter dealt with the intensity of passenger car traffic on the main roads in the district of Qurna, and the fifth chapter included the reality and future of transport on the main roads in the district of Qurna.
The thesis concluded: There is a great discrepancy in the intensity of car transport on the main roads in the district of Qurna, both of which are cargo vehicles and passenger vehicles, and human factors have a clear impact on the variation in the intensity of transport movement on the main roads in the district and the extensions of the main roads in it. And reciprocal, and the natural determinants cannot be neglected because of their different effects on the extensions of the roads and the intensity of traffic on them, as their impact varied from one factor to another, and the geographical factor had the greatest impact on the length of the road tracks
