On Sunday morning, 3/9/2022,at the Department of Arabic language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah , a PhD thesis entitled (Verses of the guidance word in the Holy Qur’an - a textual study)was discussed.
The thesis presented by the student Saadi Hashim Mahmoud included three chapters, the first chapter dealt with the textual casting and some of its elements, the second chapter discussed the semantic plot, and the third chapter included the complementary standards of the text.
The thesis aims to identify the textual studies according to the seven criteria proposed by Robert de Beaugrande, and apply them to the verses of the words of guidance in the Holy Quran.
The thesis concluded that textual studies are not subject to strict rules in the process of analyzing texts due to the overlap of other sciences with this study, such as logic, philosophy, sociology, and others.
In the thesis, the researcher recommended working on developing textual foundations for Arabic studies.
