Board research at the College of Medicine, University of Basra, discussed the diagnostic value of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IFG) and its 3-binding protein (IGFBP-3) in diagnosing growth hormone deficiency disease in children. The research presented by the student Nour Ibrahim Ghazi aims to determine the diagnostic value of both IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in diagnosing growth hormone deficiency disease in patients with short stature in a carefully selected sample, and compare the results of these tests with what is currently approved by Data and studies. The research concluded that despite the controversy and discrepancy about the value of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3, they are still, along with clinical examination, growth measurements and other laboratory tests, important tools in evaluating those suspected of having a deficiency in growth hormone, especially in Children under 11 years of age showed good sensitivity and relatively good accuracy, comparable to that of other studies. The values obtained from these tests can guide and aid in the diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency.
