
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah set up a medical detachment on the road between Samawah and Nasiriyah to provide health and treatment services to visitors walking on foot on the occasion of Ziarat Al-Arbaaen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The detachment was established by the efforts of the members of the College of Pharmacy and its professors.
The team included a number of professors and members of the college, in addition to a number of female employees to treat women.
The detachment provides a number of services, including conducting clinical examinations and providing medicines that were provided to them with self-financing, which included all kinds of analgesics, antibiotics, anti-rash ointments, nerve relaxants, vitamins, intravenous solutions, pain-relieving injections, muscle relaxants, and medical supplies such as cushions and belts, in addition to devices for measuring blood sugar and blood pressure and everything a visitor needs during the walk.
