The study of the development potentials in the countryside of Al-Muthanna Governorate is of great importance in revealing the potentials of sustainable rural development in order to advance the economic, social and environmental aspects that are employed to serve the rural population. Therefore, it is necessary to work on finding development plans, especially that Al-Muthanna Governorate enjoys developmental capabilities that can be invested in achieving development. sustainable rural
Dissertation Outline: The dissertation falls into …six… chapters. Chapter One …natural potential.., Chapter Two… Human potential…, Chapter Three Economic potential…., Chapter Four……Geographical distribution of rural settlements…., Chapter Five…service Reality……, Chapter six Sustainable rural development projects strategy.
Conclusions: The dissertation has come up with the following conclusions (The countryside of Al-Muthanna Governorate enjoys the presence of diverse and encouraging natural potentials capable of achieving sustainable rural development goals, including the vast area of land, as well as the geographical location and geological structure of the study area, which contained mineral wealth represented by (gypsum, salt, bricks, sand gravel, oil fields, limestone) These minerals can be invested in the development of industries and thus the development of the rural economy. The study area has natural and human potentials that can be relied upon in rural development, but it needs a plan, efforts and strategies in order to invest them in the rural development process )
Recommendations: The Study recommends the following (Conducting a socio-economic survey at the governorate level in order to assess the prevailing situation in a good way and know the needs of the rural population in order to find a database necessary for the formulation of rural development plans. Study, and provide services in those provinces to be an attraction for human settlement )
