
The University of Basrah discussed scientific cooperation with the International Technical Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, stated that ways of joint cooperation were discussed with the representative of the Iranian side, Dr. Muhammad Jawadi, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, and the Secretary of the University Council, Dr. Muhammad Hamza Abbas, on ways to develop techniques for dealing with genetic materials on chromosomes in the DNA of living organisms and studying their role in genes and diseases, as well as studying the surrounding environmental factors and causes that cause diseases.
Shaheen added that there was a discussion about enhancing cooperation in the scientific and research fields between our university and the International Technical Institute to conduct research related to genetic engineering and biotechnologies that are involved in all medical, pharmaceutical and engineering fields.
