The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on the methodology of scientific research.
The aim of the lecture is to introduce how to conduct scientific research, starting from choosing the topic and ending with the results that are achieved in light of the objectives and using the spss program.
The lecture presented by Dr. Amer Abd al-Nabi al-Abadi included how to define the research problem, its objectives, its hypotheses, the limits of research, defining terminology, and areas for benefiting from previous studies in order to follow scientific research methods in the field of competence, preparing data collection tools, and drawing research conclusions in light of the research results, recommendations, and suggestions based on them, as well as a reference to the sources, the methods of documenting them in the body of the research, and the list of sources.
As for the practical side, it included introducing the researchers to the Statistical Portfolio for Social Sciences (SPSS) program from the beginning of entering the program, the main pages in it, then how to name the variables and entering the data, down to the methods of using the appropriate statistical means.
