A scientific study at the College of Science at the University of Basrah, prepared by the instructor, Infas Nima Akash, with the participation of a number of researchers, studied the suitability of the environment in the Shatt al-Arab for this marine type after the change in the water and the increase in salinity, which was recorded in the eighties of the last century on the coasts of the Arabian Gulf.
The study was published in the journal "AACL-Bioflux (Aquaculture Aquarium, Conservation and Lgislation)" classified within Scopus containers Q3.
The study included estimating the densities of the aforementioned species during the months of the study.
The results of the study concluded that the changing environmental conditions and rising salt tides had led to the entry of many marine species into the Shatt al-Arab environment.
