
The instructors at the College of Science at the University of Basrah, Dr. Abdul-Ridha Akbar Alwan and Dr. Wedad Mizban Taher, have published a book entitled Parasitic Plants.
The book, which included 370 pages and was divided into 14 chapters, dealt with the biological characteristics of parasites, which included the seed, germination, life cycle, stimuli, phenotypic, anatomical, physiological characteristics, evolutionary and environmental relations, parasitic jungles, methods of combating them, and classification of parasitic plants with a colored atlas.
The book is one of the supporting books that are taught in the colleges of science and agriculture for students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, according to the approval of the Deans’ Committee in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
