A research from the Iraqi Council for Medical Specialties at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Basra, discussed vitamin D levels and vitamin D receptors in children with developmental dysplasia of the hip. The research presented by the student Sahar Mohammed Moussa aims to assess the difference in vitamin D levels and vitamin D receptors in the blood serum and their impact on hip developmental dysplasia in children and compare the results of these tests with the currently approved data and studies. Where this study concluded that low levels of receptors are significantly associated with hip developmental dysplasia and there is no difference in vitamin D, calcium, and alkaline phosphatase levels between children with developmental dysplasia and healthy children.
