
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah received a delegation from the Chaldean Diocese Church in Kirkuk as part of an official visit to view the exhibits documented in the museum on the history of the city of Basra.
Regarding the visit and the prospects for cooperation, the museum director, Dr. Labid Abdullah Najm, said, “The delegation’s visit aimed to see the museum’s sections, which contain specialized halls that embody the environmental reality of Basra and the Arab Gulf region in terms of aquatic and terrestrial life, as well as specialized biological scientific libraries, which contain books, scientific, medical and historical manuscripts and publications. The delegation praised the distinguished efforts of the museum staff in highlighting the environmental features of Basra”.
It is worth mentioning that the Natural History Museum was established in 1972 as one of the important scientific research centers at the university, which provides students of environmental diversity in Basra with rich academic material and for the pioneers and provides visitors of the museum from delegations and families, enjoyment and scientific interest.
