Under the patronage of the president of the University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, headed by the dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Majed Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, under the supervision of the Assistant dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Kazim Al-Khafaji, and the Assistant dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Reda Tamimi, in the presence of the heads of scientific departments and under the slogan (with scientific evaluation, we achieve our scientific, educational, administrative and educational goals), the College of Arts held on Sunday, 2/10/2022, its annual evaluation conference for undergraduate and postgraduate studies for the academic year 2021-2022 entitled ((Indicators of scientific evaluation in light of blended education between theory and practice).
The conference opened with verses from the Holy Quran, reading the Fatiha Surah on the souls of the martyrs and playing the national anthem, and the dean of the College, Dr. Majed Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, reviewed part of the activities of the College of Arts to develop the educational process at the level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as the College of Arts opened up to international universities and distinguished professors participated in attendance and participation via the Internet and virtual lectures, which exceeded forty lectures and from various international universities, starting from Canada and ending with Italy.
As for the scientific activity through the virtual world, and about the present activity, and how several professors and researchers contributed to the support and development of academic research, where the College of Arts hosted several researchers and foreign students, the College of Arts succeeded in contracting with the British Council of Culture to set up the English Language Proficiency Exam (IELTS) at the level of the southern region.
The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs dealt with the tasks and responsibilities of the Human Resources Division in terms of (its tasks and achievements, the preparation of teachers and employees), the functions of the Accounts Division (financial services and achievements), the Audit and Internal Control Division, the Legal Unit and the Maintenance Unit (maintenance of generators and maintenance of cooling devices), civil defense tasks and how to treat fires and services.
The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs showed, in an explanatory video, the college instructor staff according to the certificate, department, and scientific title for the undergraduate studies in terms of (additions to the instructor staff and external lecturers), the admission plan for postgraduate studies, and for the morning and evening undergraduate studies, and the success rates for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and graduates of postgraduate studies. As well as the academic activities of the college, the academic promotions accomplished for the college, the assets of the college library, and the scholarships for the scientific side.
