Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shaheen, and under the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud, with the blessing of God, the college held a discussion of the master’s thesis submitted by the student Karina Sarkis Ohanes to obtain a master’s degree in computer science under the supervision of Dr. Israa Jasim Harfash which is titled ( Epilepsy Detection from EEG Recordings Based on Machine Learning Techniques), which aims to build and design effective hybrid systems for early detection of epileptic seizures through Electroencephalogram (EEG) data using different machine learning algorithms to reduce doctors' workload and high costs of this disease. After extensive discussion by the committee assigned to discuss the thesis and the student's defense of her work, the committee decided to accept the thesis with an excellent grade, with some slight modifications.
