The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized an online workshop entitled “Positive Behavior Support PBS Direction in Treating Behavioral Problems for Children and Adolescents”
The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview of the PBS approach and its use in treating common behavioral problems among ordinary children and people with special needs.
The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Walid Atman, Ph.D. in Special Education and Autism, Suez Canal University, included the applied approach in psychology, management and behavior modification, the basic procedures in behavior modification, the axes of dealing with behavioral problems from A to Z, and the support of positive behavior from childhood to the future. As well as support for positive behavior, its effectiveness with evidence, when the behavioral problem calls for “practical” intervention, punitive schools, and the direction of positive behavior support PBS.
In the end, the recommendation was to use the positive behavior support approach (PBS) in schools, nurseries, and rehabilitation and training centers for people with special needs.
