The lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Basrah, Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Waeli, was hosted within the scientific exchange program and the visiting professor at the University of Newcastle, Britain, within the framework of continuous scientific cooperation in the field of inorganic chemistry. The project includes the preparation of new ligands for phosphorous and purine and their metal complexes, and the study of some of their applications as catalysts in organic reactions
