
During a meeting with the Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ali Al-Habhab, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib said that the two sides reviewed indicators of technical handling that characterize the certification and equivalency procedures of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Dr. Abdul Sahib directed the formation of a Ministerial team to follow up and evaluate certificate equivalency procedures for Iraqi students in Lebanon.
His Excellency stressed on the importance of preserving the reputation and history of our academic and educational institutions and developing the level of administrative dealing with students and people, especially Iraqis who are registered in a number of Lebanese universities for which the Iraqi Higher Education issued a recommendation.
Dr. Abdul Sahib expressed his hope that positive solutions would be found to overcome the issues in terms of dealing with Iraqi students and improve the level of the technical and administrative style of the certificates equivalency and attestation file in a way that ensures the authenticity of documents for international students away from indicators of delay and complexity.
For his part, Mr. Al-Habhab reviewed an expected Lebanese decision to solve these problems faced by foreign students in Lebanon and to form a specialized committee in this file to arrange the data and prioritize and organize them in an appropriate procedural organization.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
