The University of Basrah has achieved advanced ranks in the Times World Classification according to the results of its new version, which ranked and evaluated 1,799 universities from 104 countries around the world for the year 2023.
Iraqi universities achieved competitive ranks, represented by eight universities achieving important results in terms of global competition, and the universities of Baghdad, Basrah, Kufa, Mosul and Al-Mustansiriya ranke (+1501).
The Times World Ranking was based on major criteria for ranking universities based on the evaluation and measurement of performance indicators in five areas: teaching (learning environment) 30%, research (volume, income and reputation) 30%, citations (research impact) 30%, international outlook (staff, students and research) 7.5%, and industry income (knowledge transfer) 2.5%.
