The College of Dentistry University of Basrah held a scientific lecture regarding Iron deficiency anemia.
The lecture that was delivered by Assistant. Lecturer. Dr. Hala Abbass, where she explained the causes of iron deficiency which has increasingly spread in Basrah Governorate, especially in Abu Al-Khasib area, where she explained that the relative's marriages are what causing the iron deficiency genes to move from parents to their newborns.
The lecture mentioned the most important oral manifestations associated with anemia, such as mouth ulcers, gingivitis, otitis, and atrophy of the taste papillae of the tongue.
The lecture aims at the need to take into account the patient's complete medical history to avoid complications resulting from the treatment of patients with anemia.
