A master's thesis at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basrah, examined the intellectual implications of the mother-child duality in contemporary sculpture. During the aesthetic discourse within a dialogue outside the traditional meaning, the focus was on the intellectual connotations of the mother-child duality.
The thesis discussed many topics, including the intellectual and semantic concept of the mother-child duality. It was also limited to the works of naturalized European and non-European sculptors in Europe during the time period.Confined between the years (2000-2022) depending on the descriptive analytical approach.
The thesis concluded that the current study discovered that the intellectual connotations of the mother-child duality are diverse and go to several titles, including the social aspect, as it contributes to the criticism of other social phenomena and is characterized by being a comprehensive human phenomenon that no one disagrees with, but it follows the level of the collective mind and the prevailing culture in society.
