
The University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, organized a symposium on the themes, decisions and recommendations of the Education Transformation Summit 2022, in the presence of a number of public and private educational institutions in the governorate and e-learning units.
The symposium aims to shed light on international trends and transform education to change the world and achieved in Iraqi higher education during the years of the pandemic and its repercussions.
The symposium included several themes, in which the coordinator of the Ministerial Team for E-Learning, Dr. Amer Salim Al-Amir, discussed the mechanism for implementing the United Nations recommendations for sustainable development. The symposium also addressed digital learning and transformation in Iraqi universities.
Dr. Amer Salim Al-Amir stated that the ministry launched the implementation of the five themes that were approved at the United Nations Summit for Education Transformation 2022, which was signed by 130 countries, and approved several recommendations approved in our ministry, including e-learning, digital transformation, capacity development and lifelong education, as well as finding modern educational methods and means to raise the efficiency of the educational process after it was in danger due to the pandemic.
Al-Amir added, this year also the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will return to adopting the remaining recommendations of the summit, in order to promote and raise the efficiency of research and competition in international classifications.
