For the second year in a row, the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basra Gas Company, honored the top students in the Colleges of Engineering and Administration and Economics, within the framework of the joint scientific cooperation mechanism.
Awards were given to (12) students from the majors of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, as well as the Department of Banking and Finance at the College of Administration and Economics, which were computers and cash.
The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, indicated that the university’s openness to society, whether to private companies or the private and joint sectors, as well as oil companies, resulted in the signing of a memorandum of joint cooperation between the University of Basrah and the Basra Gas Company, which translated into attracting and training a number of students and appointing (64) of them in two groups and it extended for the initiative of honoring the top students, not only the graduates, but also includes the first and second stages to be an incentive for their peers.
Today, the real partnership between our company and the University of Basrah was crowned with success, according to the memorandum signed in February 2020, as we have completed training, appointing and honoring the top students, and there are future initiatives related to developing important English language skills in the field of oil and gas, according to the agreement with the British Council and cooperation with the university.
