The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the treatment of wastewater with bio-produced flocculant compounds.
The seminar, which was lectured by graduate student Asala Muhammad Kulaib, aims to use natural compounds produced by microorganisms to treat sewage water as an alternative to the chemical methods used.
The seminar dealt with the effective role of bacteria in treating sewage and getting rid of pollutants and colloids suspended in filtration plants.
