The International Classifications Unit at the University of Basrah organized weekly training workshops on mental health and family relations, which is considered the beginning of its project for development at the level of Iraqi universities.
These workshops targeted university students and discussed family relations, the psychology of marriage, and proper education, as they are the best age group prepared for the engagement project.
The workshops, which were held at Bab Al-Zubaar and Garmat Ali colleges, included several topics in which the project preparer and psychological trainer, Mahmoud Miqdad Al-Basri, presented a test of readiness for marriage within questions that determine a person’s readiness before his engagement in this sacred project, with reference to public relations between the sexes, ways to reach a correct relationship, and emotional self-satisfaction hrough easy psychology exercises, contrary to what society has inherited in terms of insulting relationships from media, movies, and poetry, which has nothing to do with the natural psychological aspect.
The project will also include opening an opportunity to receive students’ consultations in mental health and family relations, as well as consultations in entrepreneurship to support their own projects in line with their desires and the labor market today, as well as refining their artistic, professional and academic talents. So that the student realizes that the future does not depend on the job only, and that the element of economic and cultural change is in his hands, in addition to that family and educational support will be the most important contributor to building a new generation worthy of this country.
