
The Vice President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, received the World Health Organization delegation, headed by Dr. Ahmed Zueiten, the representative of the organization in Iraq, Dr. Wael, director of the emergency program, and Dr. Awatef Al-Aqabi, director of the organization's office in Basra.
At the beginning of the meeting, the vice president of the university praised the great support provided by the organization to the University of Basrah during its response to the Corona pandemic and its interest in strengthening the health system in the governorate in cooperation with health authorities.
The representative of the organization in Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Zueiten, stated that the Basra governorate will be a starting point for seeking to raise the level of the health system in the southern region, and we have inaugurated a psychiatric clinic in the university hospital.
Zouiten added that the aim of our visit to the University of Basrah, which is a source of radiation for science and knowledge in order to establish partnerships that benefit the Iraqi citizen and be a pioneer in its field and make a difference in the scientific aspect and in the aspect of combating communicable diseases.
