The Pharmaceutics Department at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Nanofiber Drug Delivery System), with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The episode included a lecture given by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Karim
In it, he discussed the methods of manufacturing nanofibers and the possibility of using these fibers as an innovative means to load drugs and release them inside the human body in the required quantity and with high efficiency.
Emphasis was also placed on the electrospinning method and the device designated for that purpose, as well as the factors affecting the quality of the product, such as the type of liquid used, the electric potential difference, the type of polymer, as well as weather conditions such as temperature and humidity.
And the importance of this method to increase its solubility and release the drug significantly
He also discussed the importance of these fibers for treating burns and reducing their inflammation significantly.
