Basra University organizes a workshop on "basic skills in writing a research summary"
The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education for Sciences organized a workshop on (basic skills in writing the research summary) in the presence of students of the fourth stage in the Department of English for the morning and evening studies in the College of Education for Human Sciences.
The workshop included a lecture given by the teacher, Alaa Hussein Sharhan, in which he dealt with the most important steps that the researcher must follow in writing the abstract in terms of dealing with the types of the abstract, when the researcher begins writing it, the method of coordination and the opening phrases to start it, the agreed method in terms of using pronouns and grammatical structures, and the type The times for each of the abstract paragraphs, and the lecture concluded with the most important things that the researcher should avoid when writing the abstract.
The workshop discussed the four basic types of the abstract, arranging the summary page chronologically within the research, what are the matters that the researcher should include in the abstract, how the researcher should start writing it and move away from traditional expressions, does he have to use personal or impersonal pronouns and what are the appropriate times in writing the abstract. The workshop showed that writing the abstract is one of the problems that researchers at various levels face, the difficulty of carrying it out in the right way, and that is why this workshop came to show the correct steps in completing the research summary.
