The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Preparation and identification of new bi-Schif base compounds from the drug Dapsone, its polymerization and thermal study) with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The panel discussion included a lecture given by Assistant Lecturer Azhar Abdel-Amir Ahmed, in which she showed how to extract Dapsone from leprosy medicine by dissolving it with acetone.
The lecture showed that the extracted material was used in the preparation of a group of binary compounds with Schiff bases, which were polymerized to obtain a different set of polymers that are used in daily life.
