Under the auspices of the Respected President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdul-Baqi Mahmoud, the Student Activities Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit in the college, organized a workshop on electronic extortion, its causes and methods of combating cyber crime, in which the respected General (Bassem Ghanem), media officer of the Basrah Police Command, explained the common methods of electronic extortion attacks and their impact on the groups of society, reviewing some awareness points to reduce its risks and the relevant parties in case of dealing with such attacks to eliminate cyber crime and educate society about such legal violations that may threaten the life of the individual and society.
