The Pharmacology and Toxicology Department of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah held a panel discussion entitled (The semi-chronic effects of mefenamic acid and diclofenac sodium on the female reproductive system in mice) with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The panel discussion included a lecture given by the graduate student Bodour Abbas Salem, in which she demonstrated the evaluation of the subchronic effects of low and high drug doses of mefenamic acid and diclofenac on the female reproductive system in rats.
It was found that administration of mefenamic acid and diclofenac in low or high pharmacological doses has a negative effect on the female reproductive system in rats, as evidenced by hormonal, biochemical and histological changes, especially when using a combination of NSAIDs.
