The Department of Ecology at the College of Science organized a seminar on the use of aquatic plants to remove some environmental pollutants in the orchards of Basra Governorate.
The aim of the seminar, which was lectured by the postgraduate student - masters, Muhammad Osama Daoud, was to define the role of aquatic plants in removing heavy elements from the waters of the channels linked to the Shatt al-Arab and used in the irrigation of agricultural lands.
The seminar dealt with the types of heavy metals, their environmental and health damages, and their sources.
