A master's thesis in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra discussed the environmental survey of aquatic insects and their diversity in the Eastern Hammar Marsh.
Student Zahraa Abdel-Baqi Lafta's thesis included measuring some environmental factors and collecting samples monthly during the study period.
The study recommended conducting studies to evaluate the marsh water quality based on the biodiversity of aquatic insects and conducting studies to find out the reason for the disappearance of some floating and submerged plants in the Eastern Hammar Marsh.
