The College of Dentistry University of Basrah organized a guidance lecture on drug control, given by Dr. Shatha Abdul Latif.
The lecture dealt with a classification of the types of natural and manufactured narcotic substances, the seriousness of each type, what are the symptoms that appear on drug users, how to Identify drug addicts, the method of dealing with them to overcome this problem, and the reasons for the spread of drug scourge among university students.
The lecture aims to raise awareness about the danger of drugs on the Individual and society, especially students and youthful young men.
The lecture recommended the importance of uniting state institutions to eliminate this extraneous and alien phenomenon to the Iraqi society, and made several proposals that were submitted to the presidency of the university, the most important of which is providing an examination that guarantees that the student does not abuse drugs, and the necessity of providing an examination device to identify the person who is into these kinds of practices in all hospitals In Basrah Governorate.
