The College of Law at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on scientific honesty in research and studies.
The seminar, in which Dr. Hussein Abdel-Qader lectured, aimed to show that there are several definitions of scientific honesty, including a broad trend that defines it as the scientific ethics that science students and researchers must abide by and take into account in their research. And a narrow trend that he defines as the researcher's use of the efforts of others, quoting from them, and integrating them into his research with reference to their original reference that the researcher used properly without attributing them to himself.
The controls of scientific integrity are:
1-keenness to show the efforts of others and their scientific ownership.
2-Not ignoring the words or actions of others, and dealing with caution with previous studies.
3-Refraining from any study that contradicts religious and societal values and principles.
4-Carrying out studies and research in a humane manner, and refraining from anything that detracts from human dignity, or conflicts with human values, customs, and traditions.
