The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on sustainable building.
The workshop, which was held in cooperation with the Basra Visions Cultural Foundation, aimed to introduce sustainable construction and its importance in protecting and preserving the environment.
The workshop, in which the architect Mustafa Majed Hashem lectured, included how to reduce the energy needed for cooling and lighting in buildings and the most important materials used in them.
The workshop recommended that the environmental conditions of each country should be taken into account when designing any building in terms of temperature and other weather factors, and the creation of designs that ensure comfort within these conditions and with the lowest possible energy consumption.
