
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched the Bridges project in cooperation with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to enhance development programs and the requirements of global partnership.
The Ministry's advisor, Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hassan, stated in his speech during the workshop launching the Bridges project that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, confirmed his keenness to cooperate with the United Nations World Food Program and to hold a joint workshop to develop the levels and areas of support for graduates, indicating that the goal of the joint project is strengthening the relationship between universities and the labor market, enhancing the training environment, and developing capabilities and skills.
He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and its universities are keen to support development projects and programs aimed at achieving the requirements of the global partnership and enhancing applied levels.
In the same context, the representative of the World Food Program in Iraq, Mr. Ali Reza Qureshi, said that the environment of cooperation with university educational institutions is an important step towards improving social protection systems and ensuring the ability of university youth to interact with the climate of the various work sectors.
For her part, Counselor for Economic Cooperation and Development of the German Embassy in Iraq, Ms. Catherine Lorraine, indicated that these projects aim to increase the involvement of young people in joint work sectors, support development projects, improve their economic indicators, proceed with the promotion of skills, and provide the public and private sectors with specialized human resources.
