The College of Law at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Al-Taqwa Association for the Rights of Women and Children, organized a symposium on juvenile justice, restorative justice and women's rights.
The symposium, in which researcher Samia Abdul-Razzaq lectured, showed the possibility of canceling the status of the penalty resulting from the juvenile delinquent when violating the law and replacing it with the status of a measure. By holding the offender responsible for the damage caused by the crime, by reforming him in an innovative way, and with the participation of the prisoners’ members, the influence and civil society organizations in solving social problems in a way that restores the situation to what it is and achieves mutual consent between the two parties. Restorative justice can be a substitute for a public lawsuit.
