A scientific study at the University of Basrah prepared by a research team consists of Dr. Mona Hameed Mahmoud from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah in collaboration with Dr. Shukriya Hatim Alwan from the Middle Euphrates University in Karbala investigated the protective effect of silver nanoparticles on PCOS in female rats.
The study, which was published in the International Journal of Fertility and Sterility, which is an international journal classified within the Scopus Q2 and Clarivate containers, included finding a new method for treating polycystic ovary syndrome induced by Estradiol valerate in female rats using silver nanoparticles biosynthesized by alcoholic cinnamon bark extract and compared with the conventional treatment metformin. .
The results of the study revealed the effectiveness and effect of silver nanoparticles in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome by preventing the occurrence of inflammatory stress and working to reduce inflammatory factors in the ovaries.
