The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled the qualitative characteristics of wastewater from treatment units in some hospitals in the city of Basra.
The seminar in which the postgraduate student - master's degree, Ban Rifat Mohammad, lectured, aims to monitor the reality of liquid waste management in Basra hospitals, by assessing the quality of liquid wastewater offered to some of the main governmental and private hospitals in Basra Governorate, which are Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital, Al-Mawani, Al-Saadi and Al-Mawada hospitals, to detect level and efficiency of processing units.
The seminar dealt with an introduction to liquid medical waste and its impact on the environment, and the results of liquid medical waste samples before and after treatment in biological stations in hospitals.
