The teacher at the College of Education for Human Sciences, Dr. Batoul Ghaleb Nahi, participated in a scientific symposium on (the phenomenon of smoking, its spread and its effects on society), which was held by the Continuing Education Unit at the Presidency of Basra University in cooperation with the College of Pharmacy / Clinical Pharmacy Department
The participation included a lecture in which it dealt with (the causes of the spread of the phenomenon of smoking and its effects on society - the category of youth and young people in particular)
The lecture discussed the means to be followed to reduce this phenomenon by raising awareness of its risks and effects on the health and economic level of the individual smoker)
The lecture indicated the need to pay attention to finding ways to address this phenomenon by activating the role of private centers for treating addicts and launching campaigns that encourage quitting smoking and rejecting a widespread practice in society.
