
A master's thesis, entitled (the semi-chronic effects of mefenamic acid and diclofenac sodium on the female reproductive system in rats), was discussed at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah by the student Bodour Abbas Salem.
The thesis dealt with a study of the semi-chronic effects of low and high drug doses of mefenamic acid and diclofenac sodium on the female reproductive system in rats. As well as the study of histological changes in the ovaries.
The thesis concluded that giving mefenamic acid and diclofenac in low or high pharmacological doses has a negative effect on the female reproductive system in rats, as evidenced by hormonal, biochemical and histological changes, especially when a combination of NSAIDs is used.
