Basra University organizes a symposium entitled (Basra in the eyes of its historians).
The College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra - Department of History, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific symposium entitled (Basra in the Eyes of Its Historians). Researchers and specialists from the History Department were:
1- Prof. Dr. Jaafar Abdel-Dayem Bunyan.
2- Prof. Dr. Furat Abdul Hassan Al-Hajjaj.
3- Dr. Zainab Abdul-Jabbar Saeed.
4-m. Mahmoud's victory.
During it, they examined the cultural and urban heritage of Basra, its tourist attractions, its economic resources, and its political reality, in one of the contemporary periods.
The symposium discussed, in several axes, the architecture that characterized Basra through the chanasheels, the visual tourist attractions, as well as the economic industries that Basra was famous for. The popular movement in Basra during the monarchy was also discussed.
The symposium showed ways to stand up and advance the visual reality through renewing university academic cooperation with government institutions in Basra, revitalizing work, and intensifying efforts to revive the economic side with the right realistic investments, and activating the tourism side.
