Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Tariq, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Nasser Khalaf Al-Salman, Professor Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, and Professor Dr. Hussein Hassan Hussein published a paper entitled (Isolation and quantification of compound 2-(Benzhydryl sulfinyl)-N-sec-butylacetamide) from ripe figs and studying its effectiveness against cancer cells in general using Fcc receptors) in the French Journal of Natural Product Research and within the first quarter of the classification of Scopus and Clarivate.
The study aimed to extract 2- (benzhydryl sulfinyl) -N-sec-butylacetamide) a new compound from figs and determine its role in enhancing trastuzumab-induced phagocytic killing of SKOV-3 cancer cells. In this study, Soxhlet was used to extract the compound from ripe and air-dried figs, and the production of isolated extracts was improved using a number of polar and non-polar solvents using methanol, ethyl acetate, chloroform, and n-hexane.
Results of in vitro and in vivo tests are shown. That 2-(benzhydryl sulfinyl)-N-sec-butylacetamide) can increase phagocytic activity by interacting with the FcY receptor, together with trastuzumab, the pathway could serve as a model for the therapeutic strategy of the compound active against ovarian cancer cells.
