The College of Education for Human Sciences organizes the White Ribbon Campaign to renounce violence against women.
As part of its targeted, continuous and comprehensive awareness campaigns, the Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized an awareness campaign about violence against women entitled (The White Ribbon), adopting multiple methodologies to diagnose problems, define them, and educate them to confront them, including the problem of violence against women, which is prevented Our true religion and the imposition of blood money in some cases of physical violence, while educating it to confront moral and intellectual violence towards it.
Dr. Rehab Hossam Al-Mandalawi, Head of the Educational Counseling Unit, stated that violence against women has existed since time immemorial, and is considered one of the violations that contradict human rights, whether from a personal, social or economic point of view.
This violence may have objective and illegitimate goals to subjugate women and strip them of their rights.
The campaign aimed to achieve certain goals in the form of results, the most important of which is emphasizing the importance of combating every form of violence against women, whether within the family or within society, and calling for a set of measures and solutions to be taken to raise awareness about this negative phenomenon in society, and to deepen the awareness of students as future leaders. This phenomenon and prepare them to face it.
