A master's thesis in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussed (modeling and practical study of vibration problems in rotating equipment) The thesis submitted by the student Louay Majed dealt with a proposal to model, characterize and simulate some important and common errors such as imbalance, misalignment and curved column through numerical analysis programs such as ANSYS and study the vibrations resulting from these errors theoretically and compare them with the experimental experiment. . Several tests were performed to validate the modeling approach. The validation test provides a reasonable validation that the vibration spectrum (FFT) and time waveform of any machine can be successfully explained by appropriate finite element modeling. Tests are performed using numerical methods by ANSYS advanced simulation software (Workbench 2020 R2). Vibration spectrum and time waveform variations were extracted for several points on the simulation rotor. Nine models were designed by 3D design software (such as SOLIDWORKS 2021 and Design D 123) for the proposed cases. The aim of the thesis is to model and study the problems of vibration in rotating equipment The thesis concluded that the frequencies extracted using finite element techniques (simulated reading) agree with the frequencies extracted by experiment (experimental reading) by 100% for all cases. He also proved that the error rate for the capacitance value is very low for non-equilibrium cases.
