The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on the foundations of the scientific research method.
The aim of the lecture is to define the meaning of scientific research, its importance in development, the goals of scientific research, and the ethical constitution of researchers.
The lecture presented by Dr. Anwar Abd Ali Hamid al-Mayah included the definition of scientific research, the stages of human thinking, the goals and importance of scientific research, the characteristics of scientific thinking, the characteristics of a scientific researcher, the classification of scientific research, how to choose a researcher, solve the research problem, and formulate it, in addition to setting research objectives and formulating its hypotheses, research limits and definition of terminology, and how to benefit from previous studies in order to follow research methodologies, prepare data collection tools, and draw conclusions upon which recommendations and proposals are based and refer to resources, methods of documenting them in the body of the research and the list of resources.
In the end, the recommendation was to continue training courses on the scientific research method for teachers according to their needs.
