The master thesis entitled (a rhetorical-pragmatic study of the media coverage of (CNN) and (Fox News) about the mutated Omicron Coronavirus) was discussed in the Department of English at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.
The thesis presented by the student Sarah Muwafaq Abdullah included five chapters. The first chapter discussed the introduction, the second chapter included the theoretical background, the third chapter dealt with the methodology, the fourth chapter dealt with data analysis, and the fifth chapter focused on conclusions and suggestions.
The thesis aims to identify how dialectical structures are used in (CNN) and (Fox News) articles related to the Omicron mutator according to the dialectical theory of (Amern).
The thesis concludes that both (CNN) and (Fox News) have employed dialectical structures in different ways.
