The College of Education for Human Sciences holds its first Quranic student conference for those gifted with reading the Quran and its sciences.
As part of its strategic plan to sponsor gifted students and within a series of conferences prepared for this purpose, the College of Education for Humanities - University of Basra held its first Quranic conference for gifted students on Thursday 12/22/2022 in the Science City Hall under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities (Prof. Dr. Hamid Siraj Jaber (Respected,
The conference included the participation of talented students in all departments of the college to read the Holy Quran, and within three axes:
(Reciting the Holy Qur’an and its interpretation, recitation of the Qur’an
Holy Quran, memorizing the Holy Quran).
The scientific arbitration committee, consisting of (Prof. Dr. Ali Sajit), (Dr. Uday Saleh) and (Dr. Mokhlad Jabbar), tested the participating talents, and announced the winners of the first three ranks for each axis.
The conference aimed to encourage students to master the recitation, memorization, and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, to nurture and develop those with talent in this field, and to provide an environment and requirements for that development.
The conference recommended the necessity of codifying the memorization of the Noble Qur’an by allocating ten minutes a day to memorizing three verses, for example, and memorizing the maqamat intonation through listening to well-known readers during the memorization process, and deepening the culture of interest in the sciences of the Qur’an regardless of specialization, as well as continuing to follow up the talented in this field. .
It is noteworthy that the College of Education for Human Sciences, within its plan, has identified many talents in several fields, and formed test committees as a first step, and then developed a conference plan that has been finalized, and its committees and times have been determined, which are student conferences in drawing and calligraphy, design, electronics and handicrafts , media, chanting, writing, authorship, story, poetry, and so on, and a schedule of these conferences was issued, the first of which was the Qur’anic conference, while in the coming days the date for the first student gifted conference for calligraphy and drawing will be held.
