A master's thesis was researched in the Department of Geography, College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra (cropping structure in Qurna district - a study in the geography of agriculture - by Ibrahim Kazem Qasim).
The thesis dealt with: the study of the crop structure in the Qurna district by analysis and conclusion, and the main objective of preparing this study was to show the current reality of the crop structure in the Qurna district, and to measure the extent of the variation in agricultural areas in the district.
The thesis included: an introduction and four chapters. The first chapter dealt with the natural characteristics affecting the crop structure in the Qurna district. The second chapter dealt with the human characteristics affecting the crop structure in the Qurna district. The third chapter dealt with the concept of crop structure and its components in the Qurna district, while the fourth chapter dealt with the qualitative structure and distribution. The thesis concluded: 1- The natural characteristics have an impact on the crop structure in Qurna district.
2- The Qurna district has natural and human agricultural capabilities that have created a crop composition whose components varied in their economic importance.
3 - The crop structure in Qurna district witnessed many changes during the recent seasons imposed by the conditions surrounding the agricultural production process, and these changes took different spatial directions.
