The College of Education for Human Sciences organizes a symposium on the occasion of the establishment of the Iraqi army.
The College of Education for Human Sciences - University of Basra organized a scientific symposium on the history of the Iraqi army entitled (The university builds society and the army protects it) with the participation of researchers and specialists from the Ministry of Defense / Basra Operations Command. In it, he touched on the most important formations of the Iraqi army after 2004, and the obstacles it faced in rebuilding the armed forces after the dissolution of the Iraqi army in 2003, and focused on the heroism of the armed forces in confronting ISIS gangs, and the high patriotic spirit enjoyed by the members of the armed forces and their dedication to defending Motherland . This was followed by a documentary film prepared by the Continuing Education Unit in the college, which reviewed the most important historical stages that the formations of the Iraqi armed forces went through.
The second lecture was (by Prof. Dr. Jaafar Abdul Daem Al-Mansour), Professor of Contemporary History of Iraq in the Department of History, in which he reviewed the national and national role of the Iraqi army during the years 1921-1958. He talked about the most important joints in this institution and its stages of development, the bright spots in the history of the Iraqi army, and the position The British, and Mansour also touched on the political role of the military institution in the events of the years 1936-1941-1948-1952-1958.
The symposium also discussed ways of cooperation between the university and the military institution in order to protect society, advance it, and provide security and safety in the city of Basra. At the end of the symposium, the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs (Assistant Professor Dr. Nofal Kazem Mahous) presented the College Shield of Excellence to the Basra Operations Command, and certificates of appreciation To the lecturers. On the sidelines of the symposium, (Professor Dr. Jaafar Al-Mansour) distributed copies of his book entitled (The Army and Politics in the History of Contemporary Iraq).
