The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (physiological study on biomarkers of bone integrity in patients infected with sickle cell anemia in Basra province) by the graduate student Lamyaa Kadhim oudah The study aims . physiologically evaluate the bone integrity in patients with sickle cell anemia in Basra Province and measure the biomarkers and included . Samples of the study included 120 males and females patients with sickle cell anemia, who were diagnosis at the Center for Genetic Blood Diseases at Basra, their ages ranged from (5- More than 40 years) which was All of them were follow- up in Basra for Genetic Blood Diseases. there were 60 healthy individuals as control group who were same sex and age range as patients. and the study was recommended Studying the environmental and genetic factors which affect the severity and distribution of SCA between regions of Iraq, New treatment approaches and preventions criteria should be performed to prevent SCD deterioration, Much more genotyping investigations should be implemented for detection the genotypes of SCA.
